Efforts in coping with power supply shortage this summer due to the Great East Japan Earthquake

The Company has implemented a measure to suppress the maximum demand for electricity during the peak time and period in an effort to contribute to control power supply shortage after the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Examples of Initiatives:

“Turn off the lightings in the halls as much as possible.”
“Maintain the air conditioning temperature at around 26°C in the halls.”
“Turn off a half of the lightings of the vending machines.”
“Turn off a part of outdoor neon display advertising.”
“Turn off any other power including the lightings inside offices as much as possible.”

As power supply shortage due to a large gap in power supply and demand in this summer is predicted, the Company designated three holidays per month in 23 halls located in in the areas covered by the Tokyo Electric Power Company and 27 halls located in the areas covered by the Tohoku Electric Power Company, in addition to setting and implementing energy-saving measures for air conditioning and lighting, in order to cooperate with reduction of instantaneous maximum power use at a power demand peak through July to September.

Air conditioning: Maintain the indoor temperature of the hall buildings at 26°C and not let it go below that with a frequent temperature control.
Implementation of power control for air conditioning according to area and purpose of use in places including back offices.
Lightings: Turn off a part of the lightings in the halls, turn off the lightings of the vending machines.
Turn off a part of the lightings in the back offices, turn off the lightings when leaving the room.
urn off a part of the lightings in the car and bicycle parking lot, turn off neon signs, etc.
Others: Power management by turning off the power of equipment and facilities when not in use.

NIRAKU contributes to environmental project in “Kochi,” the place closely in connection with Ryoma

Starting from the 60th anniversary of its foundation, NIRAKU CORPORATION adopted carbon offset uniforms based on “Offset Credit (J-VER) Scheme” established by the Ministry of the Environment as a part of the environmental project aimed at community contribution. The Company contributes to environmental project in Kochi, the birthplace of Ryoma Sakamoto and the first prefecture to be certified by the scheme in the nation.
