As of September 2010, the number of disabled employees working at NIRAKU and NIRAKU MERRIST is 62. They participate in operations beginning with horticulture management at the halls and Company housing cleaning to handling manufacturing of human resource hiring tools. We are often asked about the difficulty of hiring disabled employees, but we feel that it does not differ from general employment. It is normal that each of employees has different characteristics. We simply assign jobs under the conditions that are suitable for them.

“NIRAKU MERRIST CORPORATION” a special subsidiary company to promote employment of the people with disabilities

In February 2010, NIRAKU established a special subsidiary company “NIRAKU MERRIST CORPORATION” (“NIRAKU MERRIST”) to promote employment of the people with disabilities.
The Company puts efforts in hiring disabled people based on the policy to “contribute to development of local community.” The Company had already achieved the legal requirement on number of employment rates before the establishment of NIRAKU MERRIST; however, we are always pursuing not only the numerical achievement but the condition where the disabled people can work lively. We established NIRAKU MERRIST to flexibly nurture further improvement of environment and expansion of their duties and responsibilities.
We created the word “Merrist” by replacing “iest” of the word “merriest,” which is the superlative form of “merry” meaning “cheerful” and “lively,” to “ist” at the end of a word, to have it represent people. It was named in connection with the Management Philosophy of NIRAKU of “Happy, Enjoyable, Fun.”
